Lesnes Abbey

In Science we have been learning about Rocks & Soils, so I arranged a trip to Lesnes Abbey for us to take part in experiments involving rocks and soils.

For the first session using trowels, we had to carefully move the soil to find shark's teeth as a class. Year 3 managed to dig up 30 shark's teeth, the most that has been discovered here. Go Orchard!!!

After lunch, we took part in experiments with different types of rocks, granite, limestone, charcoal and pumice.

We left Lesnes Abbey with so much information about rocks and soils.
