Mrs Rowntree and Mr Smith took Year 5 & 6 to Norfolk Lakes located on the edge of the village of Lyng, situated on the River Wensum only 11 miles north west of Norwich to take part in water sports and outdoor pursuits.
They went for five days to experience a range of challenges that can contribute significantly to their personal development.
Residential trips add a completely new dimension to learning. It raises the whole area of interpersonal skills, including leadership, team work, trust and respect.. The whole experience builds self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
This is usually one of the first times that children are away from their parents for any length of time. They get to take responsibility for themselves with limited help from an adult. This gives them a chance to be independent, develop new friendships and, ultimately, make their own decisions.
This trip will be remembered fondly for the rest of their lives.
