Margaret and Danny Mizen visited us at school today to share their story of their son and brother who had his life taken whilst visiting the bakery for a sandwich.
They explained how actions have consequences not just for the people directly involved but also for family and friends.
We hear lots on telly about young people losing their lives but you never hear of the effects it has on the families involved. Margaret and Danny have taken their tragedy to spread the news in schools that lives should be valued, to remember to have self-worth (you are not only taking a life but you are also changing the path of your life through your actions) and how can we prevent incidents like these happening again in our community.
It was a very moving talk which I'm sure will have a positive effect on all of us who listened to their story.
