Well we managed to re-arrange World Book Day after the snow and it was well worth it.
Orchard pupils and parents went all out with the costumes. They were 'AMAZING'.
Mrs M.J arranged the day with a book sale and each class took part in reading activities as well as visiting other classes and budding up to read books together.
We achieved the goal of World Book Day, which is to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading.
It was their 21st year of World Book Day and we definitely supported their message of encouraging children to explore books and enjoy the world of reading.
Each pupil will have a book token which can be used towards a new reading book. They can take their book token to a local bookseller and can use it to pick one of TEN (exclusive, new and completely free) books. Or, if they’d rather, they can use it to get £1 off any book or audio book costing over £2.99 at a participating bookshop or book club (terms and conditions apply).
Thank you to all who supported us in this event.
Reading is a big part of our everyday world.
